들리다 + 도록

도록 or 게?

For "so that", 게 ge and 도록 are often interchangeable, and 도록 sounds a little more formal:

  • 잘 보이게 크게 써 주세요. jal boige keuge sseo juseyo
  • 잘 보이도록 크게 써 주세요. jal boidorok keuge sseo juseyo

Both mean "please write it big so it's easy to see".

도록 or (으)려고?

(으)려고 (eu)ryeogo is about what you yourself intend to do: 일찍 일어나려고 일찍 자요, "I go to bed early so I can get up early". 도록 is about the result you want, and that result can be someone else's: 아이가 잘 수 있도록 조용히 해요, "keep it down so the child can sleep".
