Who you can say it to
(으)ㅂ시다 is polite enough for a group, a class, coworkers at your level or people your own age. Said to someone senior, like a boss, a teacher or an older stranger, it can sound like you're giving them orders. With them, ask instead:
- 같이 가실까요? gachi gasilkkayo "Shall we go together?"
- 이쪽으로 가시죠. ijjogeuro gasijyo "Let's go this way," politely.
There's more on those in the (으)ㄹ까요 and 지요/죠 lessons.
Other ways to say "let's"
With friends, the casual form is 자 ja: 가자 gaja, "let's go." In polite everyday speech, plain 아요/어요 works too, and the context makes it "let's": 같이 가요 gachi gayo.
