(으)ㄹ게요 or (으)ㄹ 거예요?
Both talk about what you'll do, but (으)ㄹ게요 is aimed at the listener. It's a promise, an offer or a decision you're making with them in mind. (으)ㄹ 거예요 (eu)l geoyeyo just states a plan:
- 이따가 전화할게요. ittaga jeonhwahalgeyo "I'll call you later." A promise to them.
- 주말에 영화 볼 거예요. jumare yeonghwa bol geoyeyo "I'm going to watch a movie this weekend." Just your plan.
Spelled 게, said 께
After the ㄹ, the ㄱ is pronounced hard, so 할게요 sounds like [할께요]. That's why 할께요 is one of the most common spelling mistakes online, even among Koreans. The correct spelling is always 게요.
With friends, drop the 요: 갈게 galge, "I'll go."
