8 questions읽다 + (으)ㄴ 후에
후에, 다음에, 뒤에
All three mean "after", and they attach the same way. 후에 hue is a little more formal. 다음에 daeume is what you'll hear most in conversation. 뒤에 dwie is common too.
- 수업이 끝난 뒤에 만나요. sueobi kkeunnan dwie mannayo "Let's meet after class."
You can also drop 에 e in speech: 먹은 후 meogeun hu, 끝난 다음 kkeunnan daeum.
(으)ㄴ 후에 vs 고 나서
고 나서 go naseo means "after finishing", with a sense of one step closing before the next begins. It's very common for routines and instructions:
- 손을 씻고 나서 밥을 먹어요. soneul ssitgo naseo babeul meogeoyo "I wash my hands, and then I eat."
후에 hue is more neutral and also works with time words, as in 한 달 후에 han dal hue, "a month later". 고 나서 go naseo only works with verbs.
